This is mad double wall project. I threw it on the wheel and cut out rectangles. I added green glass and glazed it with clear glaze. The negative space at the top of the piece adds angles and shapes to the appearance of it along with the circular shape of it. The green glass adds a pop of color to the base of the shape.
This is another mug I threw and attached a handle. I used my knuckles to make ridges on the walls of the piece which hold the glaze well and give it texture. I mixed shadow green and dark blue and white to give it a sky blue tone. The uneven glaze gives it a hazy look which emulates the sky. This is a mug I threw on the wheel and attached a handle. I dipped it in dark blue and shadow green glaze. The layered glaze technique and the colors I used adds contrast and simplicity to the piece. The blue and green tones of the piece also give it a relaxed feel. This is a teapot I made on the wheel. I threw a wide cylender and a lid. I added two handles and added a spout by throwing a skinny cylender. I glazed this project with dark blue and dark green glaze. I dipped each half of the tea pot in dark blue and put dark green in the middle. By adding different layers of glaze I used space to contrast each color which gives it a layered clean look. This is a tall project I made by throwing on the wheel, adding detail, and glazing it with apple green and black stain and clear glaze. I used glaze to create movement in the details of the piece. The black and green and clear glaze adds contrast. The form of the piece also adds a simplistic look to it.
This is a cup I made on the wheel and added detail to it. I glazed it with apple green and black stain and clear glaze. The details add a complex look while the form adds a simplistic and classic look. The glaze also enhances the details that I carved into it. This is a vase I made on the wheel and altered the lip of it. I used turquoise and white glaze. The glaze that I used and the messy natural way in which it turned out makes the piece look organic and earthy. The way the glaze ran from the lip of the piece also adds to its natural appearance. This is a bowl I made on the wheel and altered it by adding groves to the rim. I glazed by dipping turquoise and dark blue on each of the groves of the rim. By dipping each grove in alternating colors I added movement the the rim of the piece. The shape of the rim also adds to the movement of the piece. This is my tall project made with porcelain on the wheel. I compressed parts of its sides to make a curvy edge. I used the curvy sides to create a feminine appearance while the glaze creates contrast. First I started with white glaze then dipped great glaze then dipped dark blue glaze. This is a small mug I made by throwing a cylander and pulling a handle. I glazed it with dark green and scrap. The dark glaze adds depth to the piece which brings out an earthy and organic look. I dipped the mug half and half which also adds contrast in the piece even though the two sides are dark. |
